How do you care for a phalaenopsis orchid?
To enjoy your orchid's bloom for as long as possible, here are a few recommendations:
- After flowering, cut the stem with the faded flowers above the second bud (20 to 25 cm above the base).
- Location: Place in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight, and protect from cold draughts.
- Temperature: Should be between 18° and 21 °C.
- Watering: Immerse your plant in lukewarm water once a week and allow it to drain thoroughly before returning it to its cachepot. Fertilise once a month from March to September.
- Repotting: Every 2 to 3 years with a special orchid mixture, necessary for the further development of your plant.
- Outdoors: Do not leave outside all summer, and certainly not in the rain, and keep under strict temperature control as it can drop below 10 to 12 °C.
